Coffee

Product Knowledge

A coffee bean is the seed of the Coffea plant found inside the fruit known as a coffee cherry, which turns red or purple when ripe. The fruit is a type of stone fruit, usually containing two seeds (beans) with their flat sides facing each other.

Although called “beans,” they are technically seeds but are named for their bean-like appearance. Occasionally, a cherry produces a single rounded seed, known as a peaberry.

A trusted exporter of raw coffee beans, consistently supplying premium-quality products that meet the strict international standards required by global importers.

Arabica accounts for about 60% of global coffee production and is widely appreciated for its smooth, mild flavor and lower caffeine content. Product Characteristics

  • Flavor Profile: Smooth, sweet, and well-balanced
  • Taste Notes: Subtle hints of sugar, fruit, and berries with a light wine-like acidity
  • Caffeine Content: Lower compared to Robusta
  • Growing Altitude: High-altitude regions
  • Market Position: Premium quality, commonly preferred by specialty coffee buyers

Arabica coffee is highly favored by coffee enthusiasts worldwide due to its refined flavor complexity and delicate aroma.

In Tanzania, Robusta is mainly cultivated in the western regions such as Bukoba and areas around Lake Victoria, where lower altitudes and humid conditions support its growth.

Product Characteristics

  • Flavor Profile: Strong, bold, and full-bodied
  • Taste Notes: Earthy with hints of grain and nuts
  • Caffeine Content: Nearly twice that of Arabica
  • Growing Altitude: Lower elevations
  • Industrial Use: Popular in espresso blends due to its ability to produce rich crema

Robusta is widely used in espresso blends and instant coffee production, valued for its intense flavor and strong body.
